Ortenauer The wine trail runs in seven daily stages on the western edge of the Black Forest, along with the landscape of Ortenau. Originally was the starting point of the road in northern Baden-Baden. A few years ago the trail, however, added a further stage, the stage of Gernsbach to Baden-Baden.

This new first stage of the Ortenauer wine trail is approximately 14.5 kilometers long and overcome a height difference of about 270 meters in the ascent and descent. One advantage of the first stage is their easy accessibility by public transport. From the market square in Gernsbach it goes steeply up to the first memorial on the edge with a beautiful view over Gernsbach and the lower Murgtal. Then the path is entertaining on the slope of the Murg River to the south to the Schloss Eberstein.

From Eberstein Castle, climb on the north back to the happy mountain and reached the Saulachkopfhütte the high point of the road with 454 meters above sea level. From the rubbish picture, you enter the city forest of Baden-Baden. It passed by a redwood grove and reaches the edge of the forest Eckhöfen above Baden-Baden.

Climb now completely after bathing Baden-Oos and reaches the light at the Allee, a charming park. Along the Oos to get to the Goethe Platz. From there it's only a few steps to the right to Leopold Square with the bus stops.
