Murgtal over the middle on a spur of the hill is the castle Eberstein happy. Formerly a castle here. Today, the Schloss Eberstein a hotel, a restaurant and a winery. From the castle itself Eberstein offers a beautiful view towards the south up the valley into middle Murgtal the mountainous border.

Eberstein between the castle and the base of the Murg is located on the southern slope, a large vineyard. This is the highest vineyard in the Murg Valley, and this guarantees a clear view to the south. The following four pictures the view from the Schloss Eberstein is from right to left to see (from southwest to southeast).

View to south-south: here you see some peaks south of the road pass red pool. There, the Black Forest begins with heights up to 1000 meters above sea level.

looking south, the Murgtal upwards: in the foreground is the village Obertsrot, behind the village Hilpertsau, both are parts of the city of Gernsbach. Left (east) of the Murg rise the plateaus between the Murg and the Enz.

Looking Southeast: left is now just a part of Schloss Eberstein, the right is the terrace of the restaurant. Links in the background is the ridge between Lautenbach and Reichental. He leads the Rockertkopf Mart and the bird head up to the long-Mart head, which is north of the plateau of Kaltenbronn. The round right in the middle ground is the Great Schöllkopf just west of Reichental. Behind it stretches the plain at the Kaltenbronn Hohlohgipfel.

You can drive by car to the castle Eberstein. Parking spaces are located above the property. In Gernsbach you have to go first on the western side of the Murg. The castle road then south and then turn to the right up to the castle.

Interestingly, however, is to wander the castle Eberstein. A starting point is Gernsbach. From there, the Ortenauer Wine Trail (starting point at the market place) in 3 kilometers up to the castle. Closest point of departure is the Obertsrot Murgtal (as Gernsbach stop Murgtalbahn). From there you climb in 1.5 miles of the castle.
