Letter For Confirm The Volunteer Work

Kinzig weir at Gengenbach for fish permeable made

On Kinzig weir at Gengenbach were made in the past few months far-reaching transformations. The transformation had several objectives:

  • An environmentally friendly power plant is moving water in the future generate power for about 800 households.
  • In the beginning the military Mühlkanal is headed in the future much less water. This remains significantly more water than ever in the natural river bed of the Kinzig.
  • A fish ladder was built, over which the upstream migrating fish can (including salmon) swim around the dam in the future.

The new hydroelectric plant was put into operation recently. This is the world's first portable, water and power plant on unterströmbare. Therefore, the project was funded by the EU. The power plant is located in a pit below the water table and therefore barely visible and audible. Also downstream swimming fish can easily pass on the power plant. The Kinzig is now in its lower reaches to over 40 kilometers to fish again consistently.
